Using an Auto Transport Company to Ship Your Car

Auto Transport company

I know I’m not the only person in this world who loves their automobile.

Maybe you’re not quite as crazy as I am about your car, but you have your own reasons for not wanting to part with it. There are a few options available when you are ship a car to Puerto Rico or the U.S.

  1. Buying a new car in Puerto Rico. When you consider the high cost of buying a car in Puerto Rico, shipping a car from the U.S. can sound like a great decision. Also factor in transportation costs when you first get to the island, and having to spend a large chunk of money and a lot of time finding a new car.
  2. Shipping your car. You have several options of getting a car to the island, but the beauty about shipping a car with a transport company is how much easier it can be. It’s also cost effective if this is an option for you. Some companies will even pick it up at your home, and deliver to your door, which makes moving a lot easier. You will need to pay and excise tax depending on the value of your car, but all of the paperwork will be taken care of by the transport company, which saves a lot of hassle. There a lot of choices out there: is the shipping going to be arranged by weight? Size? How long would it take? How safe would the car be? What about insurance?

If you are concerned about damage to your vehicle, they offer shipping in an enclosed container, keeping it safe from the elements and from accidental damage. If you’re going to ship your car here, make sure it’s clean, clean, clean!!!! We were turned away at the shipping office (and I keep my vehicle meticulously clean) to have its engine and undercarriage washed. Also, the shipping company will give you a list of things for the vehicle: Nothing at all can be in the vehicle, no more than 1/4 tank of gas, etc.
